Oil Source.

The main energy source used for household fuel, motor vehicles and industrial engines derived from petroleum, coal and natural gas. The third type of fuel is formed from the dissociation of organic compounds derived from the remains of small organisms that live in the sea millions of years ago. Slow dissociation process under high temperature and pressure, and produces a complex mixture of hydrocarbons. Some of the mixture is in liquid phase and are known as petroleum. While some are in the gas phase and are called natural gas.

Since a value lower density than water, the oil (and gas) can move upward through the porous sedimentary rock. If you do not see obstacles, oil can reach the earth's surface. However, in general oil trapped in porous rocks that are not in the upward movement. This explains why crude oil is also called petroleum. (Petro-leum from Latin petrus meaning rock and oleum meaning oil). To obtain oil or petroleum, the drilling done.

How did the experts find the location of oil?
* At first, they see the instructions on the earth's surface. Oil is usually found under the dome-shaped surface. The location could be on land (which was a sea) or offshore.
* They then conduct the seismic survey to determine the structure of rocks beneath the surface.
* Furthermore, they do a little drilling to determine the presence or absence of oil. If there is, then do some drilling to estimate whether the amount of oil is economical to take or not.
Drilling to take petroleum (and natural gas) offshore can be done in two ways, namely:
* Planting the pipeline on the seabed and pumping of oil (and gas) to the mainland. This allows the oil fields if the distance is close enough to the mainland.
* Creating platforms where oil (and gas) and brought by tankers to the mainland.

On land, oil (and gas) was taken to oil refineries (refinery) for processing.
